Olympic basketball games today: Team USA vs. Serbia highlights action

The second day of preliminary round basketball games at the 2024 Paris Olympics also marks the first game for the United State men’s basketball team.
LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum and the rest of Team USA will tip off their quest for a fifth-straight Olympic gold medal against Serbia in Group C play. This first game will feature a fascinating showdown between two players who have combined to win the past four NBA MVP awards – center Joel Embiid, making his first international appearance with Team USA in the Olympics, against Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic of Serbia. This will also mark the first Olympics appearance for Curry during his illustrious career.

Team USA already blew out Serbia, 105-79, in an exhibition game in Abu Dhabi on July 17. NBA veteran Bogdan Bogdanovic did not play for Serbia in that game.
In other Group C action, the Puerto Rican men’s basketball team will play in its first Olympics since 2004 starting Sunday. Puerto Rico’s roster features New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado and former LSU star Tremont Waters.

Here’s what you need to know about the slate of men’s and women’s basketball games on Sunday, July 28 at the 2024 Paris Olympics, including start time, TV channel information and streaming options:

NBC will broadcast the United States vs. Serbia Group C game live on Sunday. USA Network will broadcast a recording of the game at 5 p.m. ET. NBC Universo will show a recorded version of the game at 1 p.m. ET. The Group C game between Puerto Rico and South Sudan will be broadcast live on CNBC.
You can stream both games on Peacock or on Fubo, the latter of which carries USA Network and CNBC and offers a free trial to select users.
As for the two women’s games that will take place on Sunday, each will be streamed on Peacock, NBC’s streaming service.
